Darren at the start of the Cosmiques Arete

On the day Simon arrived in Chamonix it had been raining hard. Six o'clock the following morning we caught a telepherique up to the Aiguille du Midi. The storm had left six inches of powder snow, and it was August. In this picture I am at the start of the climb.
